Districts Guide
Hotels in Central Rome are comparatively expensive, although room rates change dramatically with seasons. The true city centre around the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps are a maze of narrow lanes and alleys.
Rooms here are sought after and the hotels that are available carry a heavy price premium.

Much more reasonable room rates are found off the Via Veneto and Via Nazionale north of The Forum between Piazza Venezia and Termini Station. We have hotels near the Colosseum north of The Forum which combine proximity to all sites, i.e. walkable, with reasonable value.
Hotel Districs in Central Rome If your focus is on economy, your benchmark district should be hotels near Termini Station. Termini Station is the main transport hub in Rome City Centre. The two metro lines intersect here and the main central bus station is in front of the terminus. Termini is also the terminus of long distance trains into Rome. Trains to Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino) Airport also run from the station. Coaches run to Ciampino from here.
The station is a modern affair with lots of shops, travel agencies, fast food, even a supermarket on several levels.

The Vatican City district across the river offers good value, especially to the east near the river close to Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain..
