Accor Group Hotels In Rome Compared

The French Accor hotel group have brands that cover the whole price spectrum.
With Accor, broadly speaking the further you go away from the centre the further down the scale the brand becomes. The budget Ibis chain for example has just one hotel sited well outside Rome on the orbital motorway.

In Rome, the Accor hotel brands represented are Ibis, Mercure, Novotel, Adagio and Sofitel.
In contrast, the only real city centre hotels are the Sofitel and Mercure Delta Colosseo. The Sofitel is in one of the most upmarket locations next to the cosmopolitan Via Veneto and close to the Spanish steps. The Mercure Delta Colosseo is just around the corner from the Colosseum.
Rome can be a very expensive city for accommodation, especially during the summer months.
For those with one eye on the wallet, the Mercure Corso Trieste and Mercure Roma Piazza Bologna may be the answer with affordable room rates and comfortable modern hotels.
The 'penalty' is that both are a couple of miles from the very centre in relatively upmarket suburban residential areas. However, Mercure Roma Piazza Bologna has Bologna Metro just around the corner from the hotel, just three stops from Termini. Going the other way, Tiburtina Metro is the next stop where you can get local trains direct to Fiumicino Airport, much cheaper than the Leonardo Airport Express from Termini Station.
Mercure Corso Trieste is a 300m walk to the local buses, where very frequent and a choice of buses take you into the centre of Rome in about 15 minutes, including Termini Station.
Accor also has two aparthotels on the fringes of Central Rome under the Adagio brand.
