Rome Fiumicino airport is near the coast, to the west of Rome city centre about 25 kms from the city centre. There is a dedicated airport train, the Leonardo Express that runs every 30 minutes non-stop to Termini Station in the centre of Rome in about 35 minutes, plus a cheaper slower Terravision Airport Bus.

The airport train station is connected by a walkway to the passenger terminals, so its a real option to stay in the city centre, even between flights. We have several pages of hotels around Termini Station spanning all budgets.
The Hilton at Fiumicino is the closest hotel t0 the airport itself within sight of the passenger terminals. Hilton Rome Airport is directly connected to Rome Fiumicino's Terminal 2 by a walkway.
The Hilton at Fiumicino is the only airport hotel you can walk to from the passenger terminals, all other hotels require a hotel shuttle.
The other main options at the airport are a Marriott and another Hilton (Garden Inn). There is a budget option, the Comfort Inn but the complementary shuttle for this only runs between 07:00 and 10:30 and 17:00 and 20:00

Another option is the Express Holiday Inn San Giovanni, not an airport hotel but situated next to Tuscolana Railway Station. From Tuscolana there are frequent suburban trains, (much cheaper than the Leonardo Express) to Fiumicino airport train station itself.

Hilton Rome Airport is directly connected to Rome Fiumicino's Terminal 2 by a walkway. Its free shuttle service gets you into Rome city centre in around 30 minutes.
There is also a direct non-stop train from the airport running every 30 minutes to the centre of Rome taking around 35 minutes.
Rome Hilton Airport has a fitness centre with indoor heated pool, sauna, steam bath, and whirlpool. There is a children's play room, a sun deck, a sports field, a bar and a restaurant.
Public parking is possible on site (reservation is not needed), though parking rates are significant.
The Fiera di Roma Trade Fair is 1 train stop away from the airport.

Courtyard By Marriott Rome Airport Hotel
The Courtyard Rome Hotel offers clean rooms, an outdoor pool, and an on-site bar and restaurant.
You can reach the nearby Fiumicino Airport in 5-minutes with the hotel's shuttle service.
(It should be noted that Fiumicino is not the only airport for Rome, but it is the main one. The other airport at Ciampino caters for budget airlines like Ryanair and charters.
