As the case with most global chain hotels in Rome, Marriott hotels tend to be away from the city centre, only the Grand Hotel Flora can be termed 'downtown'. So if you do select a hotel outside the centre, do factor in the time and/or expense of getting to the main sights.

The only Marriott in Rome itself is the luxury Grand Hotel Flora at the top of the Via Veneto. A swanky district adjacent to the Villa Borghese Park but within easy walking distance of the Metro if needed at Spagna (Spanish Steps).
The two 'mainstream' Marriott hotels are outside the City Of Rome itself. On the plus side it means you get good rates for the facilities here and you are also well away from the noise and bustle of the city itself.
Both Marriotts operate shuttles into city centre so you are not stranded, but you still have to arrange your itinerary around shuttle schedules.

The fourth and newest Marriott, the Courtyard Marriott Rome Airport is right out at the main airport, Fiumicino. For the leisure visitor it has little to commend it, unless you are need an airport hotel between flights or have come off a cruise.

You can reach the nearby Fiumicino Airport in 5-minutes with the hotel's shuttle service.
(It should be noted that Fiumicino is not the only airport for Rome, but it is the main one. The other airport at Ciampino caters for budget airlines like Ryanair and charters.
