Naples Ferry Port - Capri Ferry Boarding

Naples Ferry Port - Capri Ferry Boarding

The main Naples ferry and cruise port is right in the centre of Naples and is a single entity with both cruise and ferry services located all together. The port is referred to as Mollo Beverello.

There is a single building with all the ticket desks and a large digital display that tells you at which berth the vessel you require is docked. All berths are adjacent to each other and you just walk a very short distance to board.

Location and Transport

The area around Mollo Beverello has many hotels, the Naples waterfront hotels are numerous within 5 minutes walk. Most of the top hotels of Naples are around here reflecting it as being Naples most elegant and desirable district.

Mollo Beverello is well served by the comprehensive local Naples buses, full details of which are on our Naples public transport page. Frequent buses link with Central Station too, which is to the east of the city centre and too far to walk.

Central Station is the main train station for national trains as well as the private Circumvesuviana rail network serving Pompeii and Sorrento.

The Alibus Naples airport bus terminates at Mollo Beverello and takes just 30 minutes to Naples Airport stopping on the way at the main Naples train station, Central Station.

The popular open top Naples Hop On, Hop Off Sightseeing buses also stop here and the main terminus of the various routes are a 5 minute walk away. Many of the city sights are within easy walking distance of the ferry/cruise centre including the historic centre. There is a tourist information office where you can pick-up useful maps too.

Ferry & Hydrofoil Services From Naples Around The Bay Of Naples

For most visitors it is the ferry services to the islands of Capri and Ischia plus the resort of Sorrento that is the reason for using the ferry port.

There is a choice of ferry companies all competing against each other on the popular routes. Unfortunately most of the operators web sites are only in Italian, the Caremar web site being a notable exception. Most allow on-line bookings.

A typical fast hydrofoil type service will be around an hour to Capri or Ischia.

Frequencies are very good and you should not have to wait that long for a service from one of the operators to and from the islands.

You can buy tickets at ticket disks at the port or on-line.

Cruise Ships

Unlike some ports, in Naples you walk straight off your ship into the centre of the city.

Those that are independently minded can sightsee at a much lower cost than the cruise line offerings, including trips to Mount Vesuvius or Pompeii as well as the city of Naples..
