Positano - one option for your car tour from Rome

On this page

For those who want to venture out from their base in Rome and get a taste of some of the highlights of Italy outside Rome, a private tour is one very good option to consider.

For the ultimate in convenience and flexibility, a private car and friendly English speaking driver from your hotel in Rome offers a custom itinerary where you go where you want to go at a pace you want.

We offer a few very popular pre-planned itineraries or you can opt for something totally different that you specify.

If you opt for one of the popular pre-planned itineraries you still have the freedom to adapt the day as you go along making your own personal discoveries and perhaps want to dwell a little longer or skip time there.

Rome Private Car Tour Reservations

Florence by car from Rome

The same format and flexibility as the Pompeii, Positano and Sorrento tour above, but instead of going south we go north to Florence.

Florence, this historic Renaissance city is home to the Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia Gallery, where so many wonderful pieces of art are on display, and some well known attractions of Florence include the cathedral and Palazzo Vecchio.

Your day in Florence is fully under your control.

You can include a scenic orientation drive through the city so you can appreciate the beautiful architecture and attractions in full.

If you prefer to spend time experiencing la dolce vita alone you could explore the winding streets and alleyways, take a peek at the ancient city walls and sip coffee at one of the pretty pavement cafés within the ancient squares of Florence.

Your driver will drop you off at a convenient location and arrange to collect you from a pre-arranged point at a later time.

You may prefer to book a private tour guide in advance as part of the tour to ensure you visit the most popular and historic city sights with tickets for the Uffizi Gallery and Accademia Gallery, saving you wasting any time in long queues.

Rome Private Car Tour Reservations

Tivoli by car from Rome

The same format and flexibility as the two tours to Pompeii and Florence but with a travel time of under an hour between Tivoli and Rome a shorter time travelling before sightseeing.

This is a delightful excursion to the hillside town of Tivoli with the breathtaking water gardens at Villa D'Este and the amazing Villa Adriana.

The first stop can be Villa Adriana, it was a complex of over thirty buildings constructed during the second and third decades of the II A.D. by the Emperor Hadrian. He enjoyed very much the villa and for many years he governed the empire from this retreat.

The other famous villa Villa d’Este was built in 1550 as summer residence by Cardinal Ippolito II d'Este and contains hundreds of gurgling fountains driven only with the natural pressure of the water. Set among a stunning backdrop of box hedge gardens and mazes, they are the major attraction

As ever on private tours, the time and pace is yours to customise. Just tell the driver how you want to spend the day.
