Cheap Airport Buses via Termini

The cheapest option is by Terravision bus that operate separate services between both Fiumicino and Ciampino Airports and Termini Station in the centre of Rome.


You cannot buy a through ticket though, you'd have to buy two separate tickets.


SIT bus in Rome are another bus operator that compete head to head with Terravision on both airport services.

SIT are more expensive than Terravision and on the Fiumicino to Termini Station route go via the Vatican so are slower, but SIT buses typically are emptier than those of Terravision, the most popular bus because of their cheaper prices.

Alternative Train Option Using Regional Train Services

Another competitively priced train based option uses the regional commuter services from Rome. The FR1 local train from Fiumicino to Tuscolana Station south of the centre of Rome runs broadly every 15 minutes with variations according to time of the day and whether weekend or weekday.

The FR1 train is much cheaper than the Leonardo Express train that goes into the centre of Rome terminating at Termini Station.


Tuscolana Station is linked to the Metro Line A at Ponte Lungo. From here you can get the Rome Metro to the end of the line at Anagnina Metro Station.

The ATRAL local bus shuttles between Ciampino Airport and Anagnina Metro Station.

The FR1 train is much cheaper than the Leonardo Express train that goes into the centre of Rome terminating at Termini Station..
