Rome Fiumicino Airport
Rome Fiumicino airport is the main airport for Rome, its smaller rival Ciampino is largely restricted to low cost budget airlines and charters. Fiumicino is near the coast, to the west of Rome city centre just under 30kms from the city centre of Rome.
All passenger terminals are clustered very close together, you can walk between terminals without really knowing you have changed terminal location.
The airport has recently changed the names of its passenger terminals from A, B, C to a numerical naming system.
Terminal 1 is where domestic flights arrive and depart from, though other flights use Terminal 1 as well. Many intercontinental flights use the satellite T5 terminal. Alitalia flights are spread out and not confined to one terminal.
