The Archeo bus is the odd one out of the tour buses in Rome. The Archeobus doesn't go around the icons of Central Rome, so no Vatican, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain.

Instead it makes its way through the city centre and then south along the Park of Via Appia Antica. The Via Appia Antica is the old Roman Appian Way, which ran from Rome down to Brindisi.

The stretch close to Rome, the Via Appia Antica, is now part of an nature and archaeological park, the Parco Regionale dell'Appia Antica
The Archeobus goes along the Via Appia Antica as far as the tomb of Cecilia Metella, as well as taking detours to the aqueducts and Casale Rotondo.
From Terminus the bus also stops at the Colloseum, Roman Forum and the Baths of Caracalla before getting out to Via Appia Antica proper.
There is a visitor centre at the Appia Antica. You can also hire bikes at the Catacombe di San Sebastiano. Note on Sunday the catacombs are closed, but the Appia Antica itself is closed to traffic.

The standard ticket is valid on the day. If you were to stay on the bus for the entire loop, it would take approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.
There is also a 48 hour bundle deal where you can combine the Archeobus with the 110 Open Tour tour.
Frequency is scheduled at every 30 minutes early morning and mid afternoon.

The route is managed with single deck open buses equipped audio commentary devices n 8 languages
