The
110 Open Tour double deck hop on, hop off bus offers the standard
offering made by its competitors, a single core route mirrored by
the other rival operators.
Like all the other buses, on Sundays road closures may affect the
routings and stops of the bus.
Like all the other competing hop on buses, 110 Open vehicles are equipped
with an audio system providing recorded commentary throughout the
tour in many languages.

The
ticket is valid for 24 hours from first use. If you were to stay on
the bus for the entire loop, it would take approximately 2 hours.
There is a no hop off option where you just take one lap of the route
without getting on or off.
There is also a 48 hour bundle deal where you can combine 110 Open
Tour with the Archeobus tour. The Archeobus is the odd one out of
the tour buses in Rome. The Archeobus dosen't go around the icons
of Central Rome, so no Vatican, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain.
Instead it makes its way south of the city centre Archeobus tourist
route goes through the centre of Rome and along the Park of Via Appia
Antica. The Via Appia Antica is the old Roman Appian Way, which ran
from Rome down to Brindisi.
Frequency is scheduled at every 15 minutes.
Like most other operators, stop 1 is in front of Terminus Station
at a stop by the main public bus stands. |
The
Rome Toolkit Hop On Hop Off Bus Reference Route
Apart
from the Archeobus, all the rival operators operate a very similar
core route.
The following route is a template that we use on this site as a reference
to illustrate any differences in routing between the operators.
Although all tours are loops where you can start at any point, nearly
all operators start at Terminus Station. When they say last tour departs
at x, they normally mean last departure from Terminus Station.
From Terminus Station buses will head south passing the Colloseum
and Roman Forum before looping around the Circus Maximos Rome to the
River Tiber, where you can walk over to Trastevere. Back up to the
other end of the Roman Forum from the Colloseum at the Piazza Venezzia.
From here the buses head straight to the Vatican crossing the River
Tiber with a stop along the way near the Piazza Navona and Pantheon.
After the Vatican the buses head over to the north of the city centre
recrossing the Tiber to the Piazza Del Popolo. Most buses will route
through the Villa Borghese, sweeping down the Via Vittorio Venetto
to Piazza Barberini for the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. From
there its back to Termini.
Clearly there are many more worthwhile places to visit than the icons
mentioned above. The typical lap above will take just under 2 hours
and have around 12 stops. |
110
Open Tour Variation of Our Rome Reference Route
110
Open Tour pretty much run our template route above.
However the route doesn't go through the Villa Borghese but goes through
the centre of the old city of Rome with a stop closer to the Trevi
Fountain than the tours that route through Villa Borghese. |
