Trevi Fountain & Spanish Steps Hotels command something of a price premium due to their central position, within walking distance of The Forum, Pantheon and Vatican as well as Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps.

Prices tend to ease as you go east. The hotels on the Via Veneto, the backdrop for Federico Fellini's most famous movie La Dolce Vita are normally the most economic in the area, but are about 15 minutes walk from the Spanish Steps
To the north of the area by contrast to the cramped streets around the Spanish Steps and Trevi is the wide open spaces of Villa Borghese - a green lung for the area.
Trevi Fountain & Spanish Steps Hpotel District Termini Station is the main transport hub in Rome City Centre. The two metro lines intersect here and the main central bus station is in front of the terminus. Termini is also the terminus of most long distance trains out of Rome on the Italian rail network. Trains to Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino) Airport also run from the station.
The station is quite a modern affair with lots of shops, travel agencies, fast food, even a supermarket on several levels.

The area to the north of the station is full of monuments and comparatively spread out. The area around Piazza Republicca, just north of the station is mainstream tourist.
