Luxury hotels by Termini Station are sprinkled within 1km of Termini. The area around Termini like most main railway station areas is not the prettiest. The 4 star hotels tend to be out the front of the station around Republique and Teatro dell'Opera, the nicest area in the district.

Termini is a very good strategic location to have your hotel in Rome. The Colosseum and historic centre is walkable.
Hotels Rome Termini Station is the main transport hub in Rome City Centre. The two metro lines intersect here and the main central bus station is in front of the terminus. Termini is also the terminus of most long distance trains out of Rome on the Italian rail network. Trains to Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino) Airport also run from the station.
The station is quite a modern affair with lots of shops, travel agencies, fast food, even a supermarket on several levels.

The area to the north of the station is full of monuments and comparatively spread out. The area around Piazza Republicca, just north of the station is mainstream tourist.
Hotel Near Termini Station Most people feel safe in the area but it is very much a working area for the local people and the station means this extends very late.
Out the front of the station near Republique things are more impressive with monuments and statues. The station itself has very large shopping floors where you can pick up all those mundane, every day things. It also has a largish supermarket, a rarity in central Rome.
