Hand picked hotels with a bias toward value for money in Rome

Every week we review the best value hotel accommodation in Rome in all sectors of the market. Then we hand pick some suggestions for you to benchmark against.
| Hotels Around Termini Station |
There is no 'best' hotel or 'best' district to stay in, there are better districts than others for your own individual preferences and budget.
The choices here are driven from the perspective of the leisure traveller looking for value for money.
As a result many of the choices are around Termini Station, the most competitively priced district in the centre of Rome through intense competition. Being based at Termini means you have the best transport connections, both to get around the city and to get to your flight or train when leaving.
In terms of logistics, ease of visiting Rome's main sights and transfers to the airports, cruise ports and inter-city trains Termini is the best hotel district to base yourself in Rome.
We also have a few choices a little away from the centre, but all are by a metro station so you can be in the centre of the city within 20 minutes. This way you do not pay the sometimes substantial price premium of staying in the centre, getting a much more comfortable hotel than you could get for the same money in the city centre.
The hotels published on this page feature prices looking 7 weeks ahead. Room rates are highly seasonal in Rome, so if you look further forward the prices may be radically different.
We have supplemental pages for single rooms in Rome and family rooms for 3 or more people on our family rooms in Rome pages.

Small Hotel In Atmospheric “Italian” District Near Colosseum - Monti The Grifo Hotel offers en suite rooms and self-catering apartments. The apartments and some of the rooms are set in the historic building in front of the hotel. Rooms: Double, Triple & Quad Rooms & Apartments Comment: The Monti district is a delightful area to stay a few minutes walk from the Colosseum and walkable to Termini Station. Cavour Metro is here. The district has kept intact all its enchanting beauty and this is thanks to its lovely narrow side-streets and superb examples of architecture almost around every corner. The area has a village like atmosphere with plenty of small cafes and quite a lot of oriental restaurants too. Its a great place to find a bar and just people watch or intentionally get lost in the maze of narrow streets to make your own personal discoveries. Accommodation is mostly in small establishments that blend in with the local culture. |
